2dle for YouTube Music
Listen on YouTube Music in Chrome, Edge, Brave or Arc? Our little extension tells 2dle what's playing, so the cover lands on your turntable just like it does with Spotify or Apple Music. Play, pause and skip from 2dle work too!
It only looks at music.youtube.com, and it only talks to 2dle on your own Mac. Nothing goes anywhere else.
Installing It
We're still waiting on the Chrome Web Store, so for now it goes in by hand. It takes about a minute, promise!
- Download the extension above and double-click the zip. You'll get a folder called 2dle-youtube-music. Put it somewhere it can stay, like your Documents folder (your browser loads it from there).
- Open chrome://extensions in your browser (in Edge it's edge://extensions, in Brave brave://extensions).
- Switch on Developer mode, at the top right.
- Click Load unpacked and choose the 2dle-youtube-music folder.
- Make sure 2dle is open, then play something on YouTube Music. That's it!
If nothing shows up, quit and reopen 2dle once, so it can introduce itself to your browser.
What It Reads
On music.youtube.com only: the song's title, artists and album, its cover, how long it is, where you are in it, and whether it's playing. It passes those to 2dle on your Mac, and 2dle can press the page's own play, pause and skip buttons back. No analytics, no accounts, no other websites. See our privacy policy for the rest.
